Welcome to Mary Lou Fisher Elementary, home of the Mighty Marlins! Here at Fisher, we just can't hide our Marlin pride! The Fisher Library has a well-developed collection of almost 24,000 books and other items. We have materials in English and Spanish. Our book collection includes fiction and nonfiction, a reference section, and a Parent section. Books for Fisher's library are chosen after careful analysis of the current collection and professional review sources, and with the classroom curriculum and students' learning needs in mind. We also like to include books that reflect students' reading interests, and try to include a wide variety of books at every reading level. Suggestions on titles to add to the Fisher library collection are also sought from students, teachers, and other Fisher community members.

Library Volunteers
Here in the library we are always in need of volunteers! This will mostly consist of shelving books. We have a large community of readers, and there are always books to put away. If you now how to arrange books in alphabetical order, we would love to have your help! Please stop by the library if you are interested and/or if you have any questions. Library and other school volunteers must have completed and passed the NISD background check. |
