Hello Marlins! I hope all of you have had fun this summer, have spent time with family and friends, and have managed to read some great books. My husband and I were able to take a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this summer. Beautiful weather, gorgeous scenery, wonderful people, delicious food, and so many things to do and places to explore. It was an amazing trip! I have also been working on reading many of the books on the Texas Bluebonnet list for the 2016-2017 school year. One of my favorites is titled "Circus Mirandus" by Cassie Beasley. It is a fantasy story about a boy named Micah who lives with his grandfather because his parents died when he was very little. Micah's grandfather tells him a story about a circus that appears only to children, a circus that he visited as a boy. Micah's grandfather is very sick and Micah is very worried about him. The Lightbender, who is one of the people who run the circus, promised Micah's grandfather a miracle when he was a boy, and Micah goes to visit the circus in hopes of retrieving the miracle and saving his grandfather's life. I highly recommend this story! I was lucky enough to meet the author and get an autographed copy of the book when I attended last spring's Texas Library Conference. I have two requests for you:
Tell about something fun you did over the summer. Tell about a good book you read over the summer. I look forward to reading replies from students and their families, from teachers, and all Fisher staff members!
